How I Stopped Starting Over Every Monday, Every Month, Every New Year..

May 22, 2025

I’ve had a rollercoaster relationship with my own health journey.

When I first got into all things health and holistic living, I thought I had to go all in. Be “on” all the time. Eat clean, work out daily, meditate, hydrate, repeat. Surprise, surprise - I burned out, more than once. The realness behind OCD brain. That all or nothing mindset was too much & sometimes still can be LOUD.

And if we’re being real here (because we are), I’m still not 100%.
But I don’t think any of us ever are. I'd be lying to you if I said I was.
We’re always learning. Always evolving.

What I have learned, though, is this:

The real magic happens when you learn how to balance structure with grace....especially around food, movement, and mindset.

Because the truth is, we’re constantly moving through new wins, losses, successes, and lessons. Life doesn’t sit still. Neither do we. And that’s okay. And maybe you need to hear that.

I get it. I’ve been you.
And if I’m being totally honest, I still have that older version of me inside, the one that wanted to be “perfect” all the time.
Now? I just work on showing up better, not flawless. Some days are easier than others.

It’s not fancy.
It’s not matcha in a bougie mug while journaling in a sun-drenched corner **though if that’s you..amazing, live your dream.

More often than not, it looks like this for me ..

  • Rolling out of bed with full-on troll vibes, grabbing the same pair of leggings from yesterday’s workout because they weren’t that sweaty, and no one’s home to care anyway.

  • Eating food that’s healthier-ish. Some days it’s a gorgeously plated roasted veggie bowl, and other days, it’s a some form of meat and a clementine while prepping for the next coaching call.

  • Celebrating the fact that you remembered to eat lunch at all.

  • Showing up for movement not to punish yourself, but because your brain is foggy and your body’s craving a reset, even if it’s just a 10-minute stretch with a cat screaming at you to be brushed.

This is the stuff no one glamorizes.
But this is real.

Grace reminds you that you're still showing up, even when it's messy, while structure ensures you're doing it with care, not chaos.

When you learn how to let those two things dance together instead of constantly battling it out, everything shifts.
And not overnight but in the small, consistent ways you start showing up a little differently.

You begin to build a foundation of respect for your body, your needs, your capacity, and your reality.

Because here’s the thing..

You don’t need to earn your rest.
You don’t need the perfect plan to start.
You don’t need anyone else’s approval to care about yourself deeply and unapologetically.

And when you do start showing up for yourself in this way?

You meet a version of you that you’ve been craving to see for a long time.
Not the ideal you.
Not the performative, polished you.
But the one who grew through the mud, figured it out day after day, and learned to bloom anyway. (Yes, I love lotus flowers)

So if you’re still in that messy middle - welcome. You’re not behind.
You’re just in the process of becoming.
And that’s such a beautiful place to be.
